Windows 10: end-of-life support and what to do next?

Support for Windows 10 ends on October 14th 2025, but what does this mean for you and your organisation?

We take a look at your options, costs and how we can work together to achieve the best outcome for your Windows requirements.

What happens to my Windows 10 software after the 14th October?

From October 14th 2025, Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, feature improvements or security issue resolution, in its current platform. Windows 10 will continue to function after this end of life support date, but organisations running the legacy software increase their risks to security breaches and compliance violations.

What are my options?

To stay on a supported version of Windows, you can:

  • Upgrade your existing eligible PCs that meet Windows 11 hardware requirements, using Windows Auto-patch or Microsoft InTune
  • Purchase new Windows 11 PCs which offer powerful security features, a range of accessibility, productivity and AI enhancements which are built for your hybrid working organisation
  • Migrate to the Cloud with Windows 365 or Azure Virtual Desktop to make Windows 11 available on any device

Although your Windows 10 device will still work, it will become increasingly vulnerable to threats and risks.

There is an option to enroll in the short-term into the Windows 10 ESU programme. This allows your organisation to receive security updates for your Windows 10 in the short-term whilst you make the transition to Windows 11.
